Available in various styles

When you are deciding on what sort of vanity to put into your new, or newly renovated bathroom, the most broad choice to make is whether you would prefer a traditional styled vanity unit, or one that is more contemporary in design.

Some of the traditional bathroom vanities that you can buy include those made of colonial styled timber. There's also Victorian styled vanities, or other classic styles that give that old fashioned, country home feel. Naturally, quality wood and finishing materials must be used to ensure that the new vanity unit has a long life in your bathroom. Just as important is the installation of the vanity, which is why hiring a professional in this area is the best way to have confidence that everything runs to plan.

In addition to traditional or contemporary, the size of the vanity is of utmost importance. Consider where it will be placed, and whether it needs to fit perfectly into a selected position. If not, you may have more freedom to decide on the size of the unit. If the bathroom is small and compact, a corner vanity unit can be good choice.

Bathroom vanities of both modern and traditional styles, are available in a wide variety of sizes. Compact vanities are some of the smallest vanity units available. These are well suited to very small bathrooms, second bathrooms or other areas where space is an issue. As small as 500mm wide, a compact vanity can be purchased as a traditional or a wall hung type. Despite their size, most still come with cabinet storage built in, making them a very compact storage facility as well.

In contrast, very large bathroom vanity units, of either traditional or contemporary types, can stretch up to 1800mm in length. These large units can be wall hung or on legs, and usually feature dual sinks and plenty of draws or cabinet storage beneath. Contemporary styles often feature semi-recessed basins as an option. These large vanities are suited for spacious bathrooms where the vanity unit becomes one of the main centrepieces of the room.

One of the most popular sized vanity is the 1200mm size. Due to their popularity, there are a huge amount of styles and designs in this sized unit. They are available wall hung, on plinth, on kick and on legs, which makes a 1200mm vanity a very diverse option that caters to a wide range of bathroom sizes and designs. You can often select your basin of choice to customise the vanity to your exact needs.

Corner vanities are an excellent choice for smaller bathrooms. Available in various styles and with different types of tops, for example acrylic or caesarstone, you can fit a considerable amount into a corner vanity including shelves, drawers and cabinets. With customised tapware and basins, a corner vanity unit is an excellent way to personalise a bathroom where a longer unit may not be well placed.

Whilst there are many choices between traditional and contemporary styled vanities, the first decision to make is about the size of the unit itself. One this is determined, you can start to look at showroom pieces and images of vanity units that you like, and work with a bathroom cabinet making company to customise a vanity that will suit your desires, as well as the size and the style of your bathroom.
